The Nuclear Shelter in Poznań
This museum is a unique attraction on the map of Poznan. Seemingly unremarkable house, in its basement hides a real atomic shelter, which during the communist era was thought to serve as a hideout for the authorities of Poznan. Its existence was kept in secret for years, and it was not until 2012 that the shelter, built in the late 1950s and early 1960s, was opened to the public by the Greater Poland Museum of Independence. The shelter, like a time capsule, retains its original decor and in functioning equipment from the Cold War era. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the nuclear era by visiting one of its perfectly preserved relics!
